Deep Listening in the Sauna: Amy Winehouse

Deep listening

To hear is the physical process that enables perception, to listen is to pay attention to what is perceived both acoustically and psychologically.

The Soul, The Shadows & Vulnerability

Deep Listening Sauna Session – Amy Winehouse · Back to Black

November 19, 2026 · 8:00 PM · Alda Sauna

On November 19, we invite you to a new deep listening sauna session, this time dedicated to one of the most honest and gripping albums in modern music history:  Amy Winehouse – Back to Black.

In the warmth of Alda Sauna, as the steam rises and the body relaxes, we open the door into Amy Winehouse's intimate universe. Back to Black is an album that hides nothing. It is raw, vulnerable, beautiful, and uncompromising – a musical diary written with a voice that carries both pain and strength.

When the album was released in 2006, it became a turning point. With its mix of retro soul, Motown-inspired arrangements, and brutally honest lyrics, Amy created an expression that hit the world with full force. Songs like Rehab, Love Is a Losing Game, and Back to Black navigate between resistance and surrender, between darkness and glow, between heartbreak and the quiet will to rise again.

In the enveloping atmosphere of the sauna, the music gains a new depth.

The warmth softens the body.

The silence sharpens the senses.

And every vocal line, every bass line, every drum that falls like a heartbeat, strikes closer to the core of what Amy conveyed.

This is an evening to listen with your whole body.

To feel the weight, the beauty, and the honesty in her voice.

To make space for an album that still touches – because it was made unfiltered.
