Full Moon Ritual September 26

Full Moon Sauna at Farris Bad

Once a month, under the light of the full moon, the sauna masters at Farris Bad invite you to a guided, ceremonial sauna journey—a experience that supports balance, healing, and conscious intention work.

The ceremony begins at 21:00 and lasts for approximately three hours. Through a calm pace and a gradual increase in temperature, participants are led into a deep, meditative state.

Registration lists are available inside the spa before the ceremony.

The Power of the Full Moon

The full moon marks the peak of the moon's cycle, a time when the energy is at its most intense and expansive. This energy can amplify emotions, awareness, and inner processes. Though the moon's influence is always present, the full moon provides a particularly powerful opportunity to consciously connect, cleanse, heal, and plant intentions that can carry you through the next lunar cycle.

When the sun and moon are on opposite sides of the Earth, many may experience inner imbalance. Restlessness, stress, unease, sleep disturbances, and emotional sensitivity are common, especially among those who are attuned to the rhythms of nature. This sauna journey is created to harmonize these oppositions by adjusting our inner rhythm in sync with nature’s.

The lunar cycle lasts about 29 days and moves from new moon to full moon and back again. Each phase represents an energetic shift. By synchronizing ourselves with these cycles, the experience can feel both grounding, refreshing, and energizing.

The Journey Begins

The process starts outside the sauna, where the sauna masters inform and prepare the group for the journey ahead. This preparatory phase lasts about 30 minutes and is an important part of the experience. Here, there is space to land, cleanse, and prepare both body and mind before entering the ceremonial sauna.

This part is not strictly time-controlled and can be shorter or longer, depending on the group. The most important thing for participants is to let go of control over time and allow themselves to be led by the process.

Inside the Ceremony

The full moon ceremony consists of 4–5 warming phases, with short cooling breaks in between each. One does not stay inside the sauna continuously for three hours. The rhythm is intentionally slow and supportive for both body and nervous system.

Instruments, drums, and sound are used throughout to support release, presence, and inner work. The musicians and artists will sit on the right side of the sauna, where benches are reserved for them; we ask that this area is respected.

How to Prepare

This is a long and intensive session, and good hydration is crucial.

Start drinking water 2–3 hours before the ceremony.

Drink 2–3 liters gradually over time.

Good hydration provides better temperature regulation and a more pleasant experience.

Dehydration is the biggest challenge in long sauna sessions. If you become thirsty along the way, it is already a sign of fluid deficiency. Listen to your body, take breaks, and drink slowly between sessions. After the ceremony, it's important to replenish with water, salts, and minerals.

An Invitation

Come as you are. Bring a wish, a word, or a silent intention. Let the power of the moment support deep reflection, release, and renewal. May the ritual contribute to balance, presence, and a gentle transformation on your journey forward.
