MYTHOS 2025 What's your story?

The story you were told by your parents?
The story you were told at school or work?
The story you created yourself?
What is the story of you?

We are all defined by the stories we live. The things we believe. And yet we rarely examine them to find out where they came from and if they are supporting us. This three day journey is designed to help you take a good look at the myths that shape your life and make some decisions about your future. We will be using the power of ceremony, deep relaxation, diving into an ocean of soundscapes as well as exercises from spiritual traditions to bring our personal stories to the surface, where we can choose to release them or to shape a story that will support our dreams and our goals. Some of the things that will happen during the retreat- sweat lodge, gong immersion, writing exercises, face painting, sauna rituals and meditation. All of this will be happening in the luxurious setting of Farris Bad on the southern coast of Norway, a place steeped in ancient traditions and the myths of the Vikings. Your hosts: Tim Jago - poet, storyteller, sweat lodge leader and ceremony holder Jesper Lundquist - author, gong player, yogi and wild swimmer Lasse Eriksen - innovator, aufguss master and sauna ritual facilitator

Preparation for the retreat and the  lodge:
The sweat lodge  is a powerful ceremony. Many people experience deep healing and powerful insights during the lodge. It's also a challenge, but there are things you can do to make the journey smoother.

In the days before the lodge, try to find an intention for your ceremony. it might be broad like healing from past experiences ,or it might be very specific like looking at a particular pattern in your life that doesn't support you. Or maybe you just want to reconnect to your spirit. Also be aware that powerful ceremonies can sometimes provoke a kind of emotional resistance. You may notice all kinds of feelings bubbling to the surface. Try to stay grounded and calm. Allow the feelings to come and go and just observe them.

Begin drinking water around 3 hours before the start time for the lodge. The more water you have in your body, the easier it is to deal with the heat. Eat your last meal before the lodge no later than 2 hours before the start. An empty stomach is more comfortable in the lodge.  Arrive in good time so that you can relax before the ceremony and let go of the everyday world before stepping into sacred space. We will be doing some meditation and preparation before entering the lodge.

Bring some loose comfortable clothes for moving around in and for meditations during the retreat.
