Deep Listening Sauna Session – Bark Psychosis · Hex

January 28, 2027 · 8:00 PM · Alda Sauna

On January 28, we will open the new year with a deep listening sauna session dedicated to one of the most influential and atmospheric albums of the 90s: Bark Psychosis – Hex.

In the warmth of Alda Sauna, as the steam settles like a quiet veil over the room and the body falls into peace, we step into a soundscape that feels detached from time and place. Hex is an album that does not follow traditional structures — it hovers, glides, pulses, and opens space. A work that helped define the concept of post-rock, where the instruments of rock are used to create moods rather than classic song forms.

The album was partly recorded in St. John’s Church in London, and this spatial resonance is woven into the music.

Through its seven tracks, Hex builds a world of vibraphone glimpses, muted drums, floating guitars, distant trumpets, and subtle electronic textures. Critics have called the album hypnotic, mystical, visionary — descriptions that capture the quiet intensity that has made Hex a cult classic.

In the enveloping warmth of the sauna, the music takes on a new dimension.

The warmth softens the body.

The silence between the tones expands.

And every detail — every tone, every rhythm, every floating transition — sinks deeper into the senses.

Tracks like The Loom, A Street Scene, and Eyes & Smiles move between melancholy and light, between urban nightlife and inner reflection. The concluding Pendulum Man, almost ten minutes long, is like a slow tidal wave of sound — perfect for the rhythm of steam rising and falling.

This is an evening for listening without expectations.

To surrender to the atmosphere.

To experience an album that changes the space around you — quiet, patient, and with a hypnotic depth.
