Vernissage - Erle Kyllingmark

Join us for an art conversation with Erle M. Kyllingmark and Jan Walaker in connection with Kyllingmark's new exhibition. Through still images and video works, she explores existential questions about time, identity, and how we perceive the reality around us.

Kyllingmark is a Norwegian camera-based artist who has worked with both photography and film since she completed her education at London College of Printing in 1999. She has previously worked with everything from editorial photography to documentary films, and her film Life is goddamn wonderful was nominated for the Gullruten award for Best TV Documentary in 2009. She has also created larger video installations for the Norwegian Opera & Ballet.

In her latest works, she works analog with multiple exposures directly on negative film – a technique that creates layered, poetic images where multiple motifs and moods exist simultaneously. The result is works that invite the audience to discover new details and alternative ways of seeing the world.
